Let’s face it; the marketing industry, by its very nature, is full of BS.
In fact, it’s an industry that’s basically been built on BS. It’s very
foundations... are BS.  At Sherwood Productions, Inc., the goal is, as
much as possible, to cut through the BS.  In order for marketing to
be truly effective, it needs to be innovative. It needs to take risks. It
needs to grab everybody’s attention, not just that of the people who
are already actively seeking your products or services. You want
your marketing to drill your company’s name into the brains of
everybody it touches. That way, even if they don’t need your
services right now, you will be their first thought at that point in the
future when they do.

Accessibility...

We believe that small businesses should have the same access to
advertising expertise as large corporations. In order to make this
possible, though, that expertise needs to be flexible, affordable,
responsive to the needs of small business owners and, most
importantly, unpretentious. One of the principles upon which
Sherwood Productions, Inc. was founded is the belief that, while it is
critical that we take our clients thoughts, feelings, needs and dreams
entirely seriously, we must never be accused of taking ourselves too
seriously. If we start doing that, all the fun goes out of what we do,
and if we lose the fun, we lose the edge that keeps us at the top of
our game.
 

Artistry...

As members of the operating media, we do our best to stay
informed. We watch some of the same TV, and read some of the
same publications you do. One thing is absolutely certain: There is
way too much standard, tasteless, dull design out there that too
many people try to pass off as serious marketing.

Since we pride ourselves on our realistic approach to the industry, let us
state right up front that there’s a drastic difference between a true
graphic ARTIST, and somebody who just places words over or around a
picture and calls it an ad. Consider the universally applicable ‘bell
curve’ principle: The majority of people who consider themselves
marketing ‘experts’ are anything but expert. Their approach, their
work, their work ethic, and their results are just average. Yet the oh-
so-glamorous and ever-self-important image of the industry has
many of them convinced that they deserve to be paid a premium for
their efforts. Ultimately you, the consumer, pay big money for
something that really doesn’t set you apart from your competition in
any way at all. And you end up plugging along, feeling frustrated...
 

Attitude...

The goal at Sherwood Productions, Inc. is, at all times, to function on a
totally different wavelength from other marketing companies. We
view each and every project we undertake as a very public
statement of our values,our ethics and our character. We ask that you not
think of it as ‘hiring our company to make ads, or commercials, or
collateral materials for your company’.  Think of it as melding our
business into your business, and vice versa, so that we can all achieve
greater results and get closer to achieving our personal and professional
goals. Think of it as building a ‘whole’ that is somehow greater than the
sum of its parts. We have no issue admitting that, while we believe we
have a lot to offer businesses in terms of our abilities and our approach
to marketing, it is equally true that your company, and the results of our
efforts on its behalf, are our greatest marketing tool. Any relationship we
develop must, at all times, be absolutely mutually beneficial in order for it
to work to its highest potential.
